Maria Santos is a São Paulo-based painter whose monumental color field works have established her as one of Latin America's most important contemporary artists. Her paintings explore the phenomenology of color, creating immersive visual experiences that engage viewers on both sensory and emotional levels.

Influenced by Brazil's rich artistic heritage—from the Neoconcretism of Lygia Clark to the tropical modernism of Burle Marx—Maria's work synthesizes these traditions into a distinctive contemporary voice. Her canvases pulse with the light and energy of her native Brazil.

Maria's work is held in major collections including MoMA, Tate Modern, and the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo.
