Amara Okafor is a Lagos-based textile artist whose work weaves together narratives of heritage, migration, and identity. Using traditional West African weaving techniques alongside contemporary materials, Amara creates tapestries and installations that speak to the complexity of the African diaspora experience.

Her practice honors the textile traditions of her Igbo heritage while addressing contemporary concerns of displacement, belonging, and cultural preservation. Each work is both a visual statement and a tactile archive of cultural memory.

Amara's work has been acquired by major institutions and has brought renewed attention to textile art as a medium for contemporary expression.
